Climate TRACE Emissions Inventory (country level)

Climate TRACE's estimates of greenhouse gas emissions for every country, 2015 to the latest month, in about 70 subsectors under ten sectors (power, manufacturing, mineral extraction, fossil fuel operations, transportation, buildings, agriculture, waste, fluorinated gases, forestry and land use), by gas (carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide) and as CO2-equivalent at IPCC AR6 100-year and 20-year global warming potentials, in tonnes. The estimates are modelled from satellite and other remote sensing, facility data and other inputs by a coalition of organisations, and revised every month; some subsectors are reproduced from EDGAR and FAOSTAT. International aviation and shipping are assigned to countries. Only the annual country-level files of the pinned Zenodo version are read.

Status

Programme
Climate TRACE releases a new version in the last week of each month with a 60-day lag and deposits each on Zenodo (concept record 15014790). V5.11.0 is live on climatetrace.org but was not yet on Zenodo on 2026-10-08, so V5.10.0 is pinned. Moving to a new version means changing the record number in every artifact URL and the version in the member names, and re-reading the terms and the data guide's list of external datasets. Not a US federal product.
Updates
Monthly, in the last week of each month (data to two months earlier)
Next release
2026-10-31: The next Zenodo deposit (V5.11.0 or later) is expected in the last week of October 2026. It is not picked up automatically: the artifact URLs pin record 22919723.
