World Bank

World Development Indicators

The World Bank's main collection of development indicators, used here for country groups (World Bank region and income level) and three context series for all economies and aggregates: total population (people, from 1960), GDP per capita at purchasing power parity (constant 2021 international dollars, from 1990) and access to electricity (percent of population, from 1990). WDI population differs slightly from UN World Population Prospects (for 2025, 8.215 against 8.232 billion people), so each chart uses one or the other and says which.
